The United States Army has a need to operate crafts on the water as well as on the land. By working as a Watercraft Operator for the US Army, you will make water assaults possible. You will also assist in transporting everything from cargo to people. The tasks you can fulfill as a watercraft operator include everything from deckhand to pilot. You can also work on a variety of different vessels depending on your deployment.
Training and Duties
After going through the initial boot camp training, you will go through six weeks of advance training. You will learn how to complete your duties including ship structure, watch standing procedures, navigational mathematics, boat handling techniques, log and message handling procedures, and use of navigational, electronics and communications systems. You will then use those skills to perform the duties of the unit you are assigned to.
