One of the most feared vehicles in ground combat is the tank. This is especially true when it is being used by a force as highly skilled as the United States Army. Enemy combatants fear the tank divisions mostly because of the superior leadership skills of the Armor officer. This is because with the right leadership, the right armor is in the right place at all times to offer support and to devastate.
Reconnaissance Missions
A very important part of your mission as an armor officer is to work in reconnaissance. You will use armor vehicles to observe troop movements and troop locations. Your training will help you to locate vehicles in locations which will allow them to have superior powers of observation without having to risk being observed or attacked. This will give you the ability to see and to dominate in case you are spotted.

The first stop in becoming an armor officer is to go through Scout Leaders Course and Cavalry Leaders Course. One you have gone through these, you will go through Armor Officer Basic Course (AOBC). This will help you to have the skills to not only give proper orders to your troops. It will also allow you to control the movements and locations of the troops you are in opposition to.
