You don’t need to run ten miles a day or do 500 push-ups, even though both would be helpful. Here are some of the things you can do to ensure you become physically fit according to military standards.
How Many Pullups Can You DO?
Pullups are a great exercise for helping with the many pushups you will be doing as a part of your training. It’s a pulling motion, so it helps to balance the pushing motion and develop your muscles fully. If you are unable to do pullups, you can use rowing to help balance out the pushups and become fit.
Can You Do Reverse Pushups Blindfolded?
Another great way to get in shape and balance out the routine exercises you do in the military is with reverse pushups. This exercise will work your triceps, which will help to balance out your arms from doing regular pushups.
Maybe the best exercise you can do for overall fitness and flexibility is swimming. Not all military service members will have to do much swimming as a part of training. However, if you add swimming to your workout, the PT tests will become much easier.
Plank and Side Plank
Holding the plank and side plank positions will help you get in better shape. These exercises work muscles often neglected by pushups, sit-ups and running. You want to hold each side and the middle for about one minute each time you do this work out.
