The Walter reed Army Medical Center at Army Service Day and Warrior Care Month activities began the amazing day with a Warrior Healthcare Covenant. This covenant was signs by both Walter Reed Army Medical leaders and army leaders a well. The covenant showed a commitment to giving the best quality care possible to families of soldiers and the soldiers themselves in addition to a wonderful healing environment and any assistance that may be needed. The quote used that stayed in the minds of many people who attended that night is “focusing on body, mind, heart and spirit.” Which are all parts of a soldier that are well needed and well used, so having them be well taken care of is something that any hospital or person can be proud of.
While every person in the world needs care and attention when they are ill or sick, this covenant is a true show of decision towards helping the troops get some of the help and support that they need and could use. The Secretary of the Army Pete Geren said, “I pledge we will provide the medical care and support that all wounded warriors and their families need.”
