This year has seen some amazing advances and changes in not only the way the world functions and reacts as a whole, but how we personally within the United States sees ourselves and what we accept for the future. Global warming has been fully accepted and the entire country has begun working as a whole to combat, the first African-American male to be elected is to be the future President of the United States, and now a woman has become our nation’s first four-star general. This particular advancement shows how far military groups have come and the active role that both genders have taken within the military. General Ann E. Dunwoody was given her fourth star in recognition of all that she has gone through and the effort she has put forth during her time in the Army. Dunwoody herself has a long history of showing her skill and knowledge, and will continue to be an asset in the Army with the highest rank achievable. In addition, she is a role model for many military women who have sacrificed and gone through much in order to be a part of the military.
