Does the army offer enough jobs?
The US Army is considered mega in size in terms of the number of active-duty and Reserve personnel it employs, in addition to its comprehensive, local and international presence; the scale of its ground infrastructural facilities; the multiple service areas that include – office administration, communications, catering, logistics, transport, entertainment, and more.
So, whether you fervently wish to join as an active-duty soldier, or are desperately looking for a stable and paying job, the US Army will give you far more opportunities than one to fulfill your dreams.
What will it take to join the Army?
Quite contrary to what some may tell you, the formalities to enlist with the US Army have been made comparatively easier than before. Of course, like all other branches of the US Military, there are some basic, minimum requirements that you will be called upon to fulfill.
Here is a list of such requirements:
- Minimum 17 years but no more than 34.
- US citizen; certified ‘permanent resident alien’, or green card holder.
- High school diploma as minimum or equivalent.
- Good mental and physical condition with no chronic health issues and addictions (alcohol, drugs, etc.).
- Preferably single or no more than two children, if married.
- High ASVAB test score.
