If an army career is the path you’ve chosen to go, here’s a brief description about the different categories of US Army personnel that make it the powerful and efficient global fighting machine it is.
Two divisions – One core mission
The US Army is primarily divided into two categories – ‘Enlisted Soldiers’ and ‘Enlisted Officers’. These members serve full-time in active-duty capacity, with one core role and mission to perform … to guard the nation and repel its enemies anywhere on earth. They do so in peace time as in war time.
Active-duty power
The vast majority of the US Army’s numerical strength is comprised of enlisted, active-duty soldiers. With service terms ranging from 2 to 6 years duration, active-duty soldiers serve in full-time capacity. These soldiers are put through continuous training and perform routine daily tasks during peace time and can be deployed at short notice to any parts of the globe in times of war or potential threats.
Leadership power
The US Army’s enlisted officers are endowed with cutting-edge, leadership skills and lead their men and women fearlessly from the front. Enlisted officers are highly qualified and experienced, many of whom have earned their stripes and medals in battles and wars throughout US Army history.
