Army Sends Military History Unit To Iraq

Reserve Unit To Help Document Army Operations The Army is set to deploy a US Army Reserve military history detachment to Iraq. They will work to document and collect data about the operations currently being done and completed in Iraq, as well as gathering documents and items of historical significance about the War on Terror. The unit is very small, there are literally 3 Servicemembers that make up the entire unit of the 54th Military History Detachment. The mission details capturing data about the Army and collecting artifacts and documents. The Unit Commander is Captain Wendy Wright, and each soldier is interdependent on each other, and with each of the soldiers they know the responsibility and duty of each other. Sergeant 1st Class Tyrone Harbin and Staff Sergeant Frederick Conner are the other two members of the History detachment, and they use the unit equipment to document and collect documents, data and other materials of historical Army significance. This is the first active duty overseas deployment together, and all three soldiers volunteered for the overseas mission. Each of the soldiers are independently qualified for Army History duty, with degrees and experience as either undergraduate or graduate degrees, respectively in History studies.
