If you are willing to train hard, and work even harder to build your career, the army will train and encourage you in every way possible to do so. After all, there are NO barriers to US Army careers, but ONLY IF you demonstrate firm resolve in that direction.
The army isn’t rigid
Whether you have a High School Diploma, or a Bachelors Degree, OR whether you have specialized civilian skills, military experience, or no skills and experience at all … you needn’t worry, the US Army has many, MANY places and positions to fit you in. And they’ll guide you all the way, making sure you succeed in whatever job you choose.

Fortunately, the US Army has 10 different categories of jobs that you can choose from. The list includes:
- Arts and Media
- Administrative Support
- Computers and Technology
- Combat
- Construction and Engineering
- Intelligence
- Law and Law Enforcement
- Medical and Emergency
- Mechanics
- Transportation and Aviation
Exploit special skills
The US Army is always on the look out for people with specialized civilian skills and pays extremely well for such specialties. Qualified Chaplains, Musicians, Linguists, Cryptologists and Lawyers are some of the specialized positions the army offers. So, if you have a specialized skill, make sure the US Army knows about it.
